Dry forest Ankarafantsika
ANKARAFANTSIKA dry deciduous forest
A true sanctuary of biodiversity in the west of Madagascar , Ankarafantsika national park conserves one of the last vast dry deciduous forests on the island. Here the interests of local people and nature are intimately linked : the water level and survival of an entire rice-growing region depend on this protected area
Birdlife : You may even see the Ankoay, Madagascar’s very rare endemic fish eagle.
Lemurs : Ankarafantsika is one of the best places in Western Madagascar to see lemurs such as Coquerel’s sifaka Propithecus coquerli) , the mongoose lemurs( Eulemur mongos) and the famed golden-brown mouse lemur (Microcebus ravelobensis)
